Data security

Certified data destruction

Every data-bearing device that passes through Corerecy Solutions is erased or destroyed to NIST 800-88 — with serial-level proof on every lot.

The process

From your dock to certified destruction

1

Intake & logging

Every data-bearing device is scanned and serialized on arrival. Your manifest is reconciled device by device before anything moves.

2

Secure staging

Devices awaiting destruction are held in a caged, access-controlled area of our facility — no unlogged handling.

3

Erasure or shredding

Working drives are sanitized to NIST 800-88 with verified erasure; failed or sensitive units are shredded on site.

4

Verification

Erasure is verified by sampling to NIST 800-88 protocols. Anything that cannot be verified is physically destroyed.

5

Certificate & records

Serial-level certificates of destruction, erasure logs, and photographed shredding records are issued to you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Custody & liability

When does responsibility transfer?

Custody transfers to Corerecy Solutions at the moment of signed receipt — at our dock, or at yours for witnessed on-site destruction. From that point, every device is tracked under chain of custody.

Before that handoff, responsibility for data remains with your organization. We recommend drives be inventoried at your site so the serial numbers on your manifest match the serials on the certificates you receive back.

Once destruction is certified, the liability chain closes: your certificates of destruction and erasure logs are the documented proof that data on those serials was sanitized or destroyed to NIST 800-88.

This page describes our standard custody and documentation practices. It is not legal advice — your data-governance or counsel team should confirm requirements specific to your contracts and regulators.
